Obituary of Glenna Imogene "Jean" Swiger
Glenna Imogene “Jean” Swiger, 93, of Fairmont passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at her residence. She was born in Worthington on May 20, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles Melvin Shrader and Ruby L. Cross Shrader.
Jean is survived by a son, Robert A. Swiger of Zelienople, PA; two daughters, Ann E. Hamilton and her husband Mark of Fairmont and Cynthia J. Swiger of Inwood, WV; eight grandchildren, Adam Swiger and his wife April, Kyle Swiger, Kelsey Swiger, Corey Swiger, Derek Swiger, Madison Swiger, Kaitlyn Swiger, Mallory Frame and her husband Noah; four great-grandchildren, Jayda Swiger, Shiloh Swiger, Easton Frame, and Greyson Frame; a sister, Betty Jo Rankin of Mannington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Judson Swiger; a son, Thomas L. Swiger and his wife Lorraine; and a sister, Marquetta Raber.
Jean was a 1945 graduate of Mannington High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Fairmont. She worked as a travel consultant at the Marion County AAA Motor Club and in the x-ray department at Fairmont General Hospital. Jean was a member of the Quota Club. Her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. Jean loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and really enjoyed holiday gatherings, family gatherings, and going to Topsail Beach, NC.

Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 1 p.m. A committal service will follow at Lumberport Cemetery in Lumberport, WV.
