Obituary of Kathy Dea Rakocky Laughlin

Kathy Dea Rakocky Laughlin, 66, of Fairmont passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 25, 2020. She was born in Fairmont on July 19, 1954, daughter of the late John Louis Rakocky and Wanda Baker Rakocky. Kathy is survived by her sons, Joshua Laughlin of Fairmont and Jonathan Laughlin of Fairmont; a granddaughter, Samantha Laughlin; a brother, John Rakosky and his wife Crystal of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Jennifer Onderko Rakocky of Kingmont Community; nieces and nephews, Lesley Rakocky, Jenna Rakocky Toothman, Taylor Rakosky, and Jake Rakosky; and her boyfriend, Mike Barrackman of Monumental Community. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Rakocky. Kathy was a longtime waitress at Bob Evans Restaurant in White Hall and was also employed at the Marion County Senior Citizens as a caregiver. She was a 1972 graduate of East Fairmont High School and attended the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Kathy loved visiting and spending time with her classmates and chatting on Facebook. She was a loving mother and grandmother. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554. All services will be private for the family.
