Obituary of Richard "Rick" Ray Elliott
Richard “Rick” Ray Elliott, 63, of Fairmont, died Wednesday (March 9, 2016) in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born July 20, 1952, in Fairmont, a son of the late Samuel Prentice Elliott and Dorothy Elizabeth May Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Denise Rogers Elliott on Jan. 28, 2008.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Lynn and Edgel Ankrom of Fairmont; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Jean and John Dewey “J.D.” Samus of Chrisville, Maryland; two grandchildren, Atlantis Dawn Ankrom and Gabriel Edge Ankrom; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Bobbie Elliott of Barrackville.
Rick was preceded in death by a brother, James Elliott.
Rick was a retired maintenance employee and parking lot attendant for Wesbanco Bank of Fairmont. He attended Life United Methodist Church in Fairmont and was a member of the United Methodist Men. Mr. Elliott graduated in 1971 from Barrackville High School, was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching all sporting events especially his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 13 and from 10-11 a.m. Monday, March 14 at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14 in the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Buckland officiating.
The committal service will follow in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
