Ray Blake was my good friend. I knew him for 60 years. He would call me and say," stop by, I want to pick your brain." After our talks, it always seemed to me that I was the one that with knowledge gained. Ray Blake was very generous and wanted no recognition in return. The true christian act of giving. In Rays later years, his mind was still good. He always kept sharp track of his properties and business dealings. Ray built two houses for me. Both very good homes. He was very businesslike at all times, but courteous. Ray Blakes' foresight and taking the gamble of buying a large farm was the geneses of changing Bridgeport from a small farm town to the thriving city it is today. I admired his business acumen and over the years I often eluded to Rays sharpness and attention to detail. It is an honor to have called Ray a good friend.
