Obituary of Dale Franklin Mays
Dale Franklin Mays, 69, of Fairmont passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at his home. He was born on November 27, 1951, a son of the late James Lee Mays and Lue Katherine Hinerman Mays. Dale was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan Irene Mays and a brother.
Dale is survived by his daughters, Rachel Caraballo and her husband Hector of Morgantown and Christina Gamble and her husband Marcus of Kingwood; five grandchildren, Samantha Wells, Britney McCaulley, Ruby McCaulley, Walter Fox, and Angelina Caraballo; 11 great-grandchildren; several siblings; and the mothers of his daughters, Debra Godfrey and Martha Corley.
Dale was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and a very proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the owner of D&M Roofing and loved life. He was a true wounded warrior and loved being with his daughters and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to meet at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. to travel in procession to the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown for a 12 noon committal service with the Marion County Veteran’s Counsel conducting full military rites.
