Obituary of Jonathan Wayne Gillespie

Jonathan Wayne Gillespie, 53, of Four States Rd., Worthington, WV, passed away Wednesday afternoon in Monongah, WV, He was born July 18, 1963 in Clarksburg, WV, son of Deloris L. Wix Gillespie of Monongah, WV and the late Wayne Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie was a Christian by faith. He was an employee for the City of Fairmont, working as a heavy equipment operator with the storm water crew. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling and various sporting events including the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jonathan was also a history buff. Survivors in addition to his mother include 2 daughters; Rebecca Ogden and Jim Savchuk of Hattiesburg, MS and Jackie Hahn and Shane DuFour of Fairmont, WV, 3 grandchildren; Layla DuFour, Izabelle Hahn, and Abagail Gillespie all of Fairmont, WV, His fiancé, Tammi Morgan of Fairmont, WV, a sister, Mary McGowan of Canton, OH, 2 uncles; Tom Gillespie of Wichita, KS and John Gillespie of Pittsburgh, PA, an aunt, Eva E. Sessa of OK, a nephew, Jason Runion of Bluefield, WV, and 2 nieces, Amber Cox of Summers County, WV and Tiffany Wyatt of Bluefield, WV. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myra Elizabeth Gillespie, a Brother-in-law, Karl McGowan, and an aunt, Marlene Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie has chosen cremation services. Family and friends will be greeted Thursday afternoon from 4pm until 6pm at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV.
