Obituary of Richard "Buck" Brown

Mr. Richard “Buck” Brown, 71 years of age of Farmington, WV passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Fairmont Medical Center. He was born December 25, 1949 the son of the late Bailey and June Dunisch Brown. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Beryl Lea Brown on September 15, 2021. He is survived by three daughters Connie Miller of Amanda, OH, Leanna Graham and her husband Larry of Charleston, WV and Tonya Wilfong and husband Bruce of Idamay, WV; two sons Brian Dean of Lancaster, OH and Bailey Brown of Idamay, WV; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one sister Doris Brown of Mannington, WV and one brother-in-law Darrell Starkey of Farmington, WV. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Cathy Ziklo, a brother Daniel Brown and two sisters Donna Starkey and Sandra Brown. Richard proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and worked as an amtrak instructor. He retired from Consolidated Coal Company with thirty years of service. He worked as a long wall operator. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends. Favorite “fishing holes” were in Elkins and fishing trips to Lake Erie for salmon and walleye. Restoring a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette and his father’s Massey Ferguson farm tractor brought him great joy. Most important was the love of his family and being referred to as “Pap” and “Super Pap”. He was a member of Mannington Church of Christ. Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. The funeral service will celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:30 AM with Dr. Michael Reese presiding. The interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery, Monongalia County.
