Obituary of Susan Kay Lipscomb

Susan Kay Lipscomb, 51, of Shinnston, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born January 19, 1970 in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of Mary Ann Gooden Lipscomb and the late Emery Curtis Lipscomb. Susan was a member of the Whitehall Church of Christ and a graduate of Grafton High School. She worked with Walmart for over 21 years as a cashier. Susan was a very outgoing person and was kind to everyone she met. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader. She dedicated her life to her two beloved children and especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter “Emmy”. In addition to her mother, Susan is survived by her daughters, Jasmine E. and her husband Jacob Reed, and Kaylyn M. Lipscomb, both of Shinnston, her granddaughter, Emorie Reed, her brother Glen Curtis and his wife Alberta Lipscomb of Taylor County, her brother-in-law Silas “Buddy” Glaspell, of Clay County, as well as several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. In addition to her father, Susan was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Ann Glaspell. Memorial donations may be made to the Whitehall Church of Christ, 3546 Fairmont Avenue, Whitehall, WV 26554. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will be held.
