Obituary of Pearl B. Barker Murphy

Pearl B. Barker Murphy, 79, of Courtland St., Fairmont, WV, passed away Monday afternoon in Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born December 30, 1936 in Marion County, WV, daughter of the late Virgil Guy and Florence Fluharty Barker. Mrs. Murphy earlier attended Colfax United Methodist Church. She enjoyed raising her children and truly enjoyed her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Murphy of Fairmont, WV, a daughter, Annie Boyce of Fairmont, WV, 3 sons; Robert Lee Murphy Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Richard Murphy of Colfax Community, and Virgil and his wife Janice Murphy of Fairmont, WV, 4 grandchildren; Alice Boyce, Mary Boyce, David Boyce, and Ashlee Murphy, all of Fairmont, WV 2 great grandchildren, Zoey Spicer and Nicki Freeman, a brother, Paul Barker of Davey, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Barker. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV from 10am until 11am on Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Friday, 3-11-2016, at 11am, with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV.
