There are no words to say how much Patty Snider (a.k.a. Mrs. S, Mom) will be missed. I cannot close my eyes today without seeing the many special times we shared in her living room talking about anything and everything.
While we mourn today that we will no longer be able to see her in this life, we celebrate a life well lived … a life full of love and giving.
No one loved her children – Charlie, Ed, Don and Sally – and their spouses and her wonderful grandchildren more. And the love she shared with her husband, Rab, for more than 67 years is the example on which all relationships should be measured.
Patty and Rab’s house was always one of unmatched welcoming. My wife Joanne recalls that on her first visit there, she immediately felt like she was right at home with her own parents, loved and welcomed with open arms.
In our high school days, even when Charlie and I “might have been a little loud in the driveway discussing homework” at 2 a.m., she only would admonish us with a smile and made sure we knew she “heard every word” the next morning.
Her dedication to God and Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church was another one of her passions. Even in her pain in her last two weeks, she was comforting me with a response to my message to her: “Thanks. I love you also … It will be OK.”
Indeed it will. Patty is now with The King in Heaven celebrating with no pain and no sorrow … waiting to see us all again when we are called Home.
With all our love to the Snider family,
Gregg and Joanne Harr
Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
