Obituary of Lawrence "Larry" Smith

Lawrence “Larry” Smith, 68 years of age of Clarksburg, WV passed away January 30, 2022 at United Hospital Center. He was born April 16, 1953 the son of the late Jesse and Vera Buckhannon Smith. He is survived by his fiancé Melissa Lamp. They had celebrated six years together. He is also survived by a son William “Willy” Smith and his wife Kimberly of Clarksburg, WV; two step-daughters Kayla Robertson and Elaine Robertson; two granddaughters Montana Mae Smith and Olympia Ann Robertson one brother Jesse “Gary” Smith of Bridgeport, WV and two sisters Shirley Fultineer of Lost Creek and Beverly Fultineer and husband Roy of Lost Creek. He was also preceded in death by a brother William Smith and six sisters Janice Smith, Irene Swoger, Ann Smith, Agnes Jean Smith, Suann Fultineer and Barbara Marteney. Larry was a 1972 graduate of Bridgeport High School and then he enlisted in the United States Marines. While in the Marines, he learned the trade of small engine mechanics and became a truck driver instructor. He worked for many years at several auto garages including Bridgeport Auto and then retired as a service writer for Riggs Service Station. He and Willy spent a lot of time together making great memories at cookouts, corn hole games and just being with family. Larry loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM to celebrate Larry’s life at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV.
