Obituary of Helen Louise Fultz
Helen Louise Fultz, 96, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on February 8, 2022 at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond surrounded by family members. She was born in McCurdysville, West Virginia on August 31, 1925 the only daughter of the late Dale and Jane Fortney.
Helen graduated from Rivesville High School in 1943 and later married her husband of 46 years, Henry Gould Fultz, who died in 1993.Helen was a lifelong member of the churches of Christ, in Barrackville, WV, Oakwood Road in Fairmont, WV, Johnson City, TN and Richmond, VA. She was a Sunday school teacher, taught vacation Bible school and volunteered in the food pantry throughout her Christian life. She was a daily Bible reader, having read through the Bible many times.
She was employed as a clinical assistant by Dr. Fred Shaffer. After retirement she enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to Israel and a Holy Lands tour. Helen was an avid reader throughout her lifetime but valued her Bible above all else. She was a talented artist and seamstress, producing large numbers of beautiful clothes, needlework projects, sketches, and paintings.
Helen is survived by her children, Kerry Jane Hutchinson (John) of Johnson City TN, George Fultz (Pamela) of Richmond Va., Barbara Lipinski (Jeff) of Benton Ark, and Nancy Swanson (Bruce) of Winchester Va. She was beloved by her grandchildren John Alan Hutchinson (Myra), Krista Wanderman (Greg), Karli Lipinski (Perry), Amelia Dyson (Mike), Lucas Swanson (Tyler) and Leigha Swanson and nine wonderful great grandchildren. She loved spending endless hours just playing with them.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. A public graveside service will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown, WV on Monday February 14, 2022 at 11:00 am with interment to follow.
