I'm a friend of Matt's from Portland, OR. Though I never met his dad he talked fondly of him and and all the travel they did together. His obituary really lays out all the ground one can cover in a long life, full of civic accomplishments. He seems like an amazing person. Matt I'm sorry for your loss. He will be missed.

Condolences To The Scott Tharp Family
From The Pyles Family
I have fought the a good fight.
I have finished my course.
I have kept the faith.
The College of Law will
miss this fine lawyer.
I have so many memories of sitting across from Scott in his office. He has been the lawyer for the Conaway family for many, many years. I could not have had a better lawyer to take care of our family legal affairs. He knew everything about Barrackville and could locate whatever I needed about the Conaways - my dad and grandparents included. I don't know if he can ever be replaced because to me, he was Mr. Barrackvile and he will be truly missed!!

Dear Joan and Family:
I am so very sorry to learn this terrible news. Scott was one of the good ones and will be missed by so many. I know you are heartbroken and I pray that you are given the strength to get through this. Perhaps it will help just a bit to know that he was loved by so many. May he rest in peace in the strong and loving arms of our great and mighty God. God bless you and your family.
In deepest sympathy and with many prayers coming your way - Gail Flanagan Dragoo
Please accept the condolences of the Critchfield family. Our late father and Scott were friends and shared a passion for WVU sports as well as a common profession. We are sorry for your loss.
My years of working at Tharp, Liotta &Yokum were truly a blessing. The days were filled with great music streaming from Scott’s office. He loved to share vegetables from his garden and Greg and I loved getting them. Scott will surely be missed but will live on in the lives that he has touched.
Now you can add Heaven to your big map.
Rest In Peace my friend.
He was a good friend of my grandfather Walter Downshe told me a few stories. He took care of some work for us after my dad passed he was so very nice. Marion county has lost a good one.
