Obituary of Kathy Louise Siburt Yates

Kathy Louise Siburt Yates, 70, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. She was born on December 30, 1951, in Moundsville to the late George and Elise Siburt. Kathy was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and worked at Presort Plus. She was a member of Norway Church of Christ and loved to bake bread, cinnamon rolls, and pepperoni rolls and she would give them away to her friends and family. Kathy was a very proud MeMe and loved cooking for her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother and loved playing games with her family. Kathy loved her Westerns and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with her husband. Kathy is survived by her husband of 49 years, David Yates; two daughters, Staci (John) Furman and Holly (Wilbur Jr.) Dawson; her granddaughter, Isabella Dawson; step-granddaughter, Lasadia Coble; three brothers, Joseph Siburt and his wife Wanda of Perryopolis, Rodney Siburt and his wife Carolyn of Fairmont, and Texan Siburt and his wife Dena of Fairmont; three brother-in-laws, Robert Yates of Fairmont, Bill Yates and his wife Debbie of Mississippi, and Larry Yates and his wife Doris of Tennessee. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Conner and his wife Vera; two sisters, Lillian Rial and her husband Robert and Georgia Yates; her mother and father-in-law, William and Wilda Yates; three brother-in-laws, Charles, Jimmy, and Gary (Linda) Yates. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Minister Craig Matheny officiating.
