Obituary of Wendell Kenneth "Kenny" Hess
Wendell Kenneth “Kenny” Hess, 84, of Fairmont, West Virginia passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV. He was born November 30, 1937 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Wendell Hugh Hess and Betty Jean Johnson Hess. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Patricia Josephine Sholtis Hess of Fairmont, WV. He is survived by a son and daughter in law Thomas & Jean Hess of Fairmont, WV, a daughter and son in law Michelle & Wayne Yamamoto of Carlsbad, CA, 4 grandchildren Kayla Hess, Mackensy Osborne and her husband Brent Osborne, Madison Hess and Tommy Hess, 2 great grandchildren Cali Rose Osborne and Luka Kenneth Osborne, a sister-in-law Shirley Hess, and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Mark Kenneth Hess and 2 brothers Gerald Hess & Jimmy Hess. Mr. Hess was a retired Branch Manager for United Dairy with over 60 years of service. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Fairmont, WV and a member of the Holy Name Society. Kenny was a member of the Fairmont Knights of Columbus Marian Council #942 and a 1955 graduate of Rivesville High School. He enjoyed WVU and FSU sporting events and liked to travel to many different destinations. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hess’s memory to the Fairmont Union Mission, 107 Jefferson Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 or to the Marion County Humane Society, 2731 Locust Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. The Catholic Wake Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home followed by the Knights of Columbus Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1660 Mary Lou Retton Drive, Fairmont, WV 26554 with Father Vincent Joseph, Celebrant.
