Obituary of Rosa Alice McElroy

Rosa Alice McElroy, 83, of Fairmont passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at her home. She was born in Anmore on January 21, 1939, a daughter of the late Reverend Thomas Alton Wildman and Cymantha Lucinda Sanders Wildman. Rosa is survived by her husband George Frederick McElroy; two daughters, Alicia Stickles and her husband Mark of Fairmont and Cathy Michael of Fairview; a step-son, Christopher McElroy and his wife Julie of Warrendale, PA; two step-daughters, LeeAnn Reisen and her husband Joseph of Fairmont and Andrea McElroy of Manhattan, NY; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a step-great grandson; a great-great grandson; a sister, Patty Jeffries and her husband J.J. of Locust Grove, VA; and a sister-in-law, Susie Wildman. In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Michael and Randy Michael; her brothers, Thomas Wildman Jr., Charles Wildman, and Robert Wildman; and a sister, Cookie Wildman. Rosa was a graduate of Walkersville High School and was Methodist by faith. She was a retired office manager for the Fairmont Veterinary Hospital with over 40 years of service. Rosa was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Monday, April 4, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.
