Obituary of Sandra Lee Bleigh

Sandra Lee Bleigh, 85, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at her residence. She was born March 21, 1937 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Herbert Spencer Snyder and Iva Rose Snyder McKinney. Sandra was also preceded in death by her step-father, James W. McKinney. Sandra was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and attended Fairmont State College where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority, Alpha Kappa Chapter. She was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired from the Marion County Board of Education where she served as a library aide and special needs teacher’s aide. Sandra was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed creating many wedding gowns, prom dresses, and Forrest Festival Princess Gowns. She was also an artist and liked drawing and painting. She was a wonderful cook and loved spending time with her family and friends. Sandra is survived by her children, Marc R. and Kim Bleigh of Fairmont, and Kelly L and Aaron Underwood of Fairmont, and her step-grandchildren, Alex Weber and Matthew Weber. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will be held. Friends and family are welcome to visit the funeral home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 4PM until 6PM. A memorial service will be held at 6PM with Pastor John Carnes officiating.
