Obituary of Robert Gene Hess

Robert Gene Hess, 73, of Fairmont, West Virginia died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the Fairmont Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 14, 1943 in Rivesville, WV a son of the late Newton Hess & Mildred Rodesky Hess. He is survived by 2 brothers and 2 sister in laws Roy & Irene Hess of Rock Lake Community and Homer & Donna Hess of Fairmont, 3 sisters and a brother in law Jessie & Jody Elliott of Bridgeport, WV, Margaret Floyd of New Martinsville, WV and Betty Bryant of Detroit, Michigan and several nieces & nephews. Mr. Hess was preceded in death by 4 brothers Gary “Pete” Hess, Charles Hess, Bill Hess and Ronald Hess, 3 sisters Norma Kruzel, Donna Cross & Genny Nisky. Mr. Hess was employed by the Rivesville Sanitaion Board, Asplundh Tree Service and as a laborer for the Fleming and Curnette farms. He enjoyed taking walks in the country, listening to music and reading. The family would like to thank the staff and employees of the Fairmont Health & Rehabilitation Center and Amedisys Hospice Care for their love and support. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10a.m. – 1p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rex Musgrove officiating.
