Obituary of Donald "Jack" Rogers Ashcraft

Donald Rogers “Jack” Ashcraft, 86, of Colfax went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at his home. He was born in Copley, OH on September 1, 1935. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dianne Lynn Morris Ashcraft; four children, Shawn Ashcraft and his wife Vanessa of Berkley Springs, Donald Ashcraft and his fiancé Rebecca of Bunner Ridge, Melissa Smallwood and her husband Roger of Benton’s Ferry, and Gerald Ashcraft and his wife Vicky of Richmond, VA; eight grandchildren, Amber Hobday, Crystal Smallwood, Andrew Smallwood, Mark Ashcraft, Blake Ashcraft, Caroline Ashcraft, Celess Ashcraft, and Steve Ashcraft; four great-grandchildren, Charolette “Mia” Smallwood, Antonio Ashcraft, Aaryn Ashcraft, and Arionna Ashcraft; and a cousin, Freda Boggs of Carolina. In addition to his mother, Jack was preceded in death by a daughter, Lacetta Ashcraft; his grandparents who raised him, Grover and May Ashcraft and his brother, Frederick Wayne Ashcraft. Jack was a 1954 graduate of Shinnston High School and retired truck driver for Soles Electric. He was a member of Fairmont Free Methodist Church. Jack enjoyed working on antique trucks. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jim Zinn and Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating.
