Obituary of Anne Elizabeth Waggoner

Anne Elizabeth Waggoner, age 94, passed away on July 4th, 2022 peacefully at her daughter's home in Florida. Anne was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1927 in Marietta, Ohio. She eloped and married the love of her life, Hunter "Scotty" Waggoner, August 1947. He preceded her in death in 2005. Anne loved to love people. She truly never met a stranger. She was fascinated with everyone's story - where they were from, their family, and their dreams. As a nurse in the nursery at Fairmont General Hospital, working with babies and their new parents, her kindness was on full display. She loved them all. She will be so very missed by her family, son Steve Waggoner & wife Greta, daughters Carol Nay & husband John, Becky Williams & husband Bill, and Michele Leeson along with grand children Cory Waggoner & Sara, Cassie Young & John, Alexis Johnson, Shaun & Gaitlyn, Nicole Waggoner, Nicholas Waggoner, Steven Waggoner, Josh Nay & Caleb, Ryan Nay, Annie Williams & Ethan Haugh, Molly Williams & Cil, Todd Leeson & Heather, Dylan, and Danielle, Tracey Leeson & Aislynn, her niece Dee Schreffler, nephews John & Bill Gaither and their families, along with Cheryl Waggoner and close family friend Judy Marshall and her Church Family at New Beginnings Worship Center. Anne was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremy Nay in 2015. Anne treasured her family, embraced her time with them, and touched their lives deeply. You are invited to a celebration of a life well lived, Thursday July 28th, 11am - 1:30pm at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont WV 26554, followed with a service at 2pm, officiated by Rev. Wayne Efaw. Flowers are always appreciated or in lieu of, donations may be made to Marion County Humane Society or New Beginnings Worship Center, the Church she attended.
