Obituary of Chester Dale Kelley

Chester Dale Kelley, 71, of Fairmont passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at his home. He was born in Fairmont on September 25, 1950, a son of the late Chester Freeman Kelley and Opal Arlean Shahan Kelley. Chester is survived by his brother, Gary Alan Kelley and his wife Rebecca Jane of Fairmont; nieces, Erin Nicole King and her husband Paul and Valerie Dawn Mullinax and her husband Brandon; and dear friends, Josh and Tyler Thomas. Chester was a 1968 graduate of East Fairmont High School and had attended Fairmont State College. He co-owned K & T Enterprises Inc. and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Chester was an eagle scout and a member of Acacia Lodge #157 A.F. & A.M., Osiris Shrine Center, and the Upper Mon-Valley Shrine Club. He enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Yellowstone, Arizona, Acadia National, and the Florida Keys. Chester had been to every state except for Hawaii. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camps in Petersburg, Morgantown, and Barbour County. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Chester’s memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, September 10, 2022, with Evangelist Kevin Lough officiating. A committal service will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover. Masonic ritualistic services will be conducted at the gravesite.
