Obituary of David Lee Carney

David Lee Carney, 76, of Farmington, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at his residence. He was born September 15, 1946 in Lawrence, MA a son of the late Joseph Leo Carney & Claire J. Butterworth Carney. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Sue Horn Carney. They were married for 34 years. He is survived by a son David Lee Carney of Massachusetts, a daughter Lee Ann Carney of Massachusetts, a step daughter and her husband Tammy & Jimmy Robbins of Farmington, WV, two brothers, and six grandchildren Anthony O’Donnell, Jennifer O’Donnell, Aeron O’Donnell, Joshua Robbins, Daniel Robbins, and Hannah Robbins. He was preceded in death by a sister Colleen Carney and his step daughter Amber O’Donnell. Mr. Carney was a former policeman for the state of California and Massachusetts. He was a member of a police canine unit when serving in California. David was also a long haul truck driver for several years. He attended the Rivesville Baptist Church and served in the United States Army Reserves. David enjoyed traveling, reading, and being with family and friends. The family have entrusted arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rivesville Baptist Church, 412 Main Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating.
