Obituary of Joyce Ann Merrifield

Joyce Ann Merrifield, 89, of Bellview Community in Fairmont, West Virginia passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 in the Fitzwater’s Assisted Living in Fairmont, WV. She was born April 30, 1933 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late Lester Pepper and Alice Martin Pepper. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Howard Merrifield. Mrs. Merrifield is survived by 3 sons and 3 daughter in laws Brad & Donna Merrifield, Gary & Rachael Merrifield, and Eddy & Michele Merrifield all of Fairmont, WV, 8 grandchildren Matthew Merrifield & his wife Cathy, Eric Merrifield, Tyler Merrifield, Paige Merrifield, Nolan Merrifield & his wife Ashley, Marlena Phillips & her husband Rodney, Stacey Henline & her husband Robert, and Steven Merrifield & his wife Kayla. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters Irene Pepper & Betty Yost and a granddaughter Kelsey Grace Merrifield. Mrs. Merrifield was the former office manager for Marion Engineering of Fairmont. She was formerly an active member of Highland Avenue United Methodist Church and a 1951 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed making family time special. The family would like to thank the staff at the Fitzwater’s Assisted Living for their kindness, care and support. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. A private visitation and funeral service will be held for the family.
