Obituary of Joseph Anthony Monell

Joseph Anthony Monell, 83, of Fairmont passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Grafton City Hospital. He was born in Fairmont on June 28, 1939, the son of the late Felix Anthony Monell and Katherine Zerco Monell. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Lorea Gay Frush Monell; sons, Rocky Allen Filius and his wife Debbie of Fairmont and Mark Steven Filius of Fairmont; grandson, Felix Monell; and sisters, Sheila Kelly of New Jersey and Janet Monell of Florida. Joseph was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and Fairmont State College. He was catholic by faith, liked sports, and was a clock maker. Joseph owned Poor Joe’s Restaurant in Petersburg. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554. All services will be private for the family.
