Obituary of Horace Burton "Burt" Simcox

Horace Burton “Burt” Simcox, 88, of Fairmont passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at his home. He was born in Glendale, CA on June 18, 1934, a son of the late Horace Burton Simcox and Peyton Croom Simcox. Burt is survived by his longtime life partner, Carol Ettenger; sons, Burt Simcox and Brad Simcox and his wife Jordan; daughter, Peyton Hughes; and grandchildren, Catherine, Amelia, and Wyatt Simcox. In addition to his parents, Burt was preceded in death by all of his sisters. Burt was a graduate of Paschal High School and attended TCU. He worked in air conditioning and heating and was presbyterian by faith. Burt enjoyed his family, the outdoors, and gardening. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Burt’s memory to the Tygart Valley United Way, Washington St., Fairmont, WV 26554. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554. In accordance with Burt’s wishes, his body will be cremated and there will be no public services.
