Obituary of Denise Renae Mugnano Mays

Denise Renae Mugnano Mays, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Denise was born on Saturday, September 13th, 1958, in Fairmont, West Virginia and was a graduate of East Fairmont High School, Class of 1976. Denise was a loving daughter and sister, doting mother, and was fiercely compassionate toward her family and friends. She was quick-witted, and loved all things nature, ocean, animal, and food. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and tending to her koi pond. Denise was preceded in death by her father, Frank Joseph Mugnano, Sr., her mother, Lois Aileen (Bobbie) Mugnano Cox, and her eldest brother, Frank Joseph (Frankie Jo) Mugnano Jr. She is survived in death by her brother, David Patrick Mugnano of Bridgeport, W.V., two daughters, Jaime Lynn Bucholz of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jodi Leigh English of Valley Springs, California; her five grandchildren, Mariah Hoonsan, Nathan Hoonsan, Hunter Hoonsan, and Makenna Hoonsan – all of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Isabella Guerrero of Valley Springs, California. Denise also recently welcomed Great Grandson, Grayson Hoonsan – of Las Vegas, Nevada, and was pleased to know that Grayson had a sister on the way. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews – Jeremey Mugnano, Christopher Mugnano, Brittany Bryan, D.J Mugnano, Bianca Mugnano, and Briegha Mugnano, numerous other cousins, and her companions, James Allen Sims and fur-son Parker. Denise will be remembered for her love of the Lord Jesus Christ, her brilliant smile, tremendous laugh and sense of humor, and the loving, compassionate way she dealt with humans and animals alike.
