Obituary of Genevieve G. Snoderly

Genevieve G. Snoderly, 95, of Baxter died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1921 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late Robert McCoy & Nellie Brumage McCoy. She was preceded in death by her husband James Lawrence Snoderly Sr. on February 8, 2006. She is survived by 2 sons Glenn L. Snoderly Sr. of Baxter, WV and Lynn L. & Carol Snoderly of Kingwood, WV, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and a son in law Michael Jordan Jr. of Grant Town, WV. Mrs. Snoderly was preceded in death by 2 sons Robert Snoderly & James L. Snoderly Jr., 2 daughters Ruth Ann Jordan & Bonnie Lou Snoderly, 5 brothers and a sister. Mrs. Snoderly was a homemaker and active member of the Highlawns United Methodist Church in Rivesville, WV. She was a former Junior High Sunday School Teacher, a Conference Delegate for the church, former choir member, secretary-treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society, volunteer for the church’s Vacation Bible School and a volunteer for the Rivesville Samaritan House. She enjoyed gardening, working puzzles and playing the guitar & harmonica. The family would like to thank the aids, nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice for their love and support over the last year. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd’s Pantry at the Rivesville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.
