Obituary of Lucile Ely

Lucile Ely, 87, of Barrackville, West Virginia went peacefully to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born December 18, 1928 in Baxter, WV a daughter of the late Robert B. Weekley & Zona Weekley. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul K. Ely in 1982. Mrs. Ely is survived by her 5 children and 2 son in laws Paul Bruce Ely of Woodbridge, VA, Brenda Ely of Morgantown, WV, David Ely of Barrackville, WV, Diane & French Cox of Grafton, WV and Debra & Steve Davis of Winter Springs, Florida, a sister Mary E. “Betty” Ware of Palmyra, VA, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Robert B. Weekley Jr. & John H. “Jack” Weekley and a sister Vivian Jose’. Mrs. Ely before her illness was an active member of the Bethesda Baptist Church in Barrackville, WV where she served on various committees. She was a 1946 graduate of Barrackville High School. Mrs. Ely worked a short time for the Westinghouse Lamp Plant before marrying the love of her life Paul K. Ely. She was an avid gardener & fisherman and enjoyed working as a polling worker during election time. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. The casket will lie in state in the Bethesda Baptist Church, 502 Pike Street, Barrackville, WV 26559 on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the church Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Cyphers officiating.
