Jeff was a fan of "The Book" as he called it. Sharing what I had written on there about him. I'm missing Jeff so much already.
Jeffrey Dean McClure. My middle brother. Thought we had so many more years together, and I wanted to find a way to do things together again - like when you and I fixed up Dad’s house getting it ready for sale.
As a recently retired federal geologist, you had a whole bucket list of adventures ahead of you with Nancy and Allison. The three of you are such a beautiful, talented and successful family.
Sadly, Pancreatic Cancer decided to take you so young. When the back pain and stomach discomfort started last May, we now know that was the cancer manifesting itself. On 11/15, the CT scan showed pancreatic cancer and our world turned upside down.
In the beginning, we hoped for a cure. You and I talked. We knew the odds were long. Then when the doctor said a cure was not on the table, we hoped for the miracle of more time. We got some, but not enough.
So glad I got to fly over in December. And then in mid-March, I was able to do that “work in West Virginia week”. So rewarding to spend late afternoons and evenings with you and Nancy, and to see Allison. I hoped I’d get to see you again in this life.
You shared the McClure humor, intellect and love of life’s adventures. And you did it with grace and humility. So proud of you as a brother, and I’m missing you already as a close friend.
In 20 years, we’ve lost Mom, then Dad 12 years ago, and now you.
