Obituary of Betty Jane Hill

Betty Jane Hill, 91, of Stonewood and Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016. She was born in Adolph, WV, on August 26, 1925 as the third of nine children of Albert and Odessie Brown. Betty worked many years at the front desk of the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport and retired as secretary of John M Hill, Inc. d/b/a Air Placement Cement Company in Bridgeport. Recently, she has been a resident of Country Living Personal Care Home in Jane Lew. Betty loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her sons David and wife Doris Hill of North Ridgeville, OH, Rick and wife Betty Jo Hill of Bridgeport, five grandchildren to include Misty and husband Doug Vance, Berlin, PA, Justin Hill, Oklahoma City, OK, Jonathan Hill, Elkhart, IN, Christopher and Jeffrey Hill, Bridgeport and three great grandchildren. Additional survivors include a sister Phyllis and husband Benjamin Knaggs of Atlanta, GA, a special niece Karen and husband Robert Shaw of Centerville, OH, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hill, in 1999, along with her parents and seven siblings. The family extends special thanks to her care takers, Sheri and Charlie Sellers, as well as Peoples Hospice of Harrison County for all the great care extended. Per Betty’s wishes a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation in Betty’s name be sent to Peoples Hospice of Harrison County, 327 Medical Park Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
