Obituary of David Lee Hohmann

David Lee Hohmann, 80, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023, in the Elmcroft of Maplewood Center. He was born on May 16, 1943, in Fairmont, a son of the late James and Mary M. Wiley Hohmann. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hohmann. David was a Catholic by faith and a 1961 graduate of East Fairmont High School. He also attended Fairmont State College and West Virginia University, where he earned his master’s degree. He was a retired English teacher for the Monongalia County Board of Education, where he taught for 53 years at Morgantown High School. David was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. David is survived by one aunt, Sandra K. Wiley Sanson of the Millersville Community, as well as several cousins and friends. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will occur. Friends will be received on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 9 am until 11 am. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 am with Reverend Father Walter Jagela presiding.
