Obituary of Deborah Kay Satterfield

Deborah Kay Satterfield, 66, of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the Tygart Center at Fairmont Campus. She was born November 29, 1956 in Loraine, OH, a daughter of the late George and Iris Long Box. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Keith B. Satterfield. Deborah was a Christian by faith. She was employed for over 21 years as an Animal Technician with the Middletown Animal Clinic in Fairmont. Debbie enjoyed tending her garden and her flowers, she had a green thumb with her tomatoes and peppers. She loved to take care of her home and found peace in her daily home routine. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Charles “Chip” Gooden of Fairmont, her eight grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Earl “Butch” Shriver of Martin, P.A., as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and her grandparents, Debbie was preceded in death by her three sisters: Kathryn D. Shriver, Donna Box, and Tina Sanders Hutchinson. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. Friends and family are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 4PM until 8PM, and on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 11AM with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating. Interment will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover, WV.
