Shawn, Andrea, Mayson- many prayers are being sent to you from so many people in Colorado. Lots of hugs are coming from me this weekend, whether you like it or not! ;)
Crayton, I will always remember our special one-on-one times together. Playing with you when I was in town at Mamaw & Papaw’s home when you were little and lunch outings when you got older. For awhile we shared a love of running together, and I was so honored to have my teenage cousin invite this ol’lady to a few trail runs together! I remember the first one. Started out with running and swimming through a cold pond, then proceeded to running up hills and jumping over fallen trees and skipping through creeks! When we got to mile 3, we both were getting a little winded, but grabbed each others hands and started pulling each other to the finish line- we said, “We can do this!” Running and laughing at the same time would be difficult for me now lol, but I love that we sailed through that last mile, and finished 3rd place, together! Two years later, you roped me into another run, which started with a complete uphill scramble, oh my! We both had matured a couple years, you for the better, and you had wonderful friends to run with us this time. Losing my agility after a couple years, I remember telling you and your friends to, “Run ahead, don’t worry about me!” as I wasn’t keeping up as well this time while we climbed walls and ran through the hills of West By God Virginia. But your kind heart once again, grabbed my hand and said, “No, we are finishing together.” And we did.
I will forever cherish your kind heart, your wit, your infectious energy, and that handsome smile.
I’ll see you at the finish line, Bud.
Love you Always,
Your Cousin,
Becca
