Obituary of Diane Ruth Hopkins Garrett

Diane Ruth Hopkins Garrett, 94, of Fairmont passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born in Clarksburg on June 21, 1929, daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Hawkins Hopkins. Diane is survived by a son, Dave Garrett; three grandchildren, Matt Garrett and his wife Whitney and their children Riley Mae and Liam Guy, Zack Garrett and his wife Trish and their children Trish and Rhett Parker, and Tom Garrett and his wife Amy and their daughter Layla; as well as friends, Nancy and Rick Piggott. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Guy Robert “Bob” Garrett and sons, Tom and Jim Garrett. Diane was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Clarksburg and enjoyed playing golf, crocheting, knitting, and needleworking. In accordance with Diane’s wishes, she will be cremated. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 12 noon at Sunset Memorial Park, 1036 Mount Clare Road, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
