Obituary of E. Jane Reese Oreskovich
E. Jane Reese Oreskovich, 79, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born on February 5, 1944 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Dr. Edgar B. and Elizabeth L. Carpenter Reese. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Michael Oreskovich.
Jane was a proud 1962 graduate of East Fairmont High School and a 1964 graduate of Fairmont State College, where she obtained a degree in Secretarial Studies.
She worked as a receptionist with various financial institutions over the years, including several small loan companies. She retired from the Marion County Chamber of Commerce where she worked with her brother Charlie, and later Tina Shaw.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, including the Fairmont Women’s Club, where she served as a past treasurer. Jane enjoyed gardening at her home, which she considered her “work in the dirt”, and annually completely rearranged her flower gardens. Jane found the greatest joy in spending time with her family, picking up her grandchildren after school, and actively supporting her son’s activities over the years.
In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by her son, Dr. Jason and his wife Janae Oreskovich of Fairmont, her brothers, including her twin brother, Charles (Helen “FiFi”) Reese of Fairmont, and her brother Dr. Errol “Pud” (Dr. Patricia) Reese of Boca Raton, FL, her one sister, Emmajo Reese Shearer of Canton, OH, her grandchildren, Aaron Oreskovich of Fairmont, Airman Christopher Oreskovich serving aboard the U.S.S Gerald R.
