Obituary of William Edward Saunders

William Edward Saunders, 92, of Corbin Branch Community, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born February 15, 1931 in the Eldora Community of Marion County to the late Claude Edward and Bessie Mae Stevens Saunders. He was preceded death by his loving wife in 2018, Betty Lea Glaspell Saunders. Mr. Saunders was a Methodist by faith and retired in 1992 from Alcan Aluminum with over 37 years of service in the maintenance department. He was a veteran with the United States Army having served as a corporal during the Korean War. Bill was a member of the Masonic Late Lodge #63 A.F. & A.M. in Bridgeport, WV. Mr. Saunders is survived by his children, Barbara Ann and Timothy Morrison of the Corbin Branch Community, Pamela Diane and Richard Stickley of Kingwood, WV, and William Von and Rachel Saunders of Bridgeport, his four grandchildren, John and Heather Chipps, Samantha and Korey Mikolon, Janel and Mark Johnson, and Cassi Saunders, and five great-grandchildren, Maxxis Chipps, Bryson Chipps, Kohen Mikolon, Emma Lea Mikolon, and Zander Chipps. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554.
