Obituary of Marion Addison Mitchell Sr.

Marion Addison Mitchell Sr., 88, of Rivesville passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at his home. He was born in Rivesville on February 21, 1936, a son of the late James Mitchell and Opal Kennedy Mitchell. Marion is survived by his children, Lisa Shannon (Mike) of Fairview and Marion Mitchell, Jr. (Tonya) of McCurdysville; his grandchildren, Amanda Ridenour (Mike), Candice Mitchell (Dan), Tamera Mitchell, Blaze Tate, and Damian Mitchell (Shania); his great-grandchildren, Skyler Torok, Madeline Mayo, Ethan Mayo, and Brody Torok; brothers, John and Claude Mitchell; and sister, Ruby Glover. In addition to his parents, Marion was preceded in death by his loving wife, Odra Ruth Eddy Mitchell; a son, Ralph Mitchell; a grandson, Kyle Torok; brother, Jim Mitchell; and sisters, Brenda Glover and Elsie Johnson. Marion was a graduate of Rivesville High School and worked for 25 years at US Bronze in New Jersey. He enjoyed bluegrass and country music as well as gardening. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, PO Box 488, Rivesville, WV 26588.
