Obituary of Joseph J. Guzzi

Mr. Joseph J. Guzzi, 81 years of age of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1935 in Rosemont, WV, the son of the late Joseph and Rachel Morroco Guzzi. He is survived by his wife Shirley Ostronisky Guzzi. They had celebrated fifty seven years of marriage. He is also survived by two daughters, Tonya Rich and her husband Timothy of Morgantown and Stephanie Gill and her husband Burgo of Statesville, NC; four granddaughters Jacqueline and Nicolette Rich of Morgantown, WV, Ashtin Gill of Raleigh, NC and Kristalyn Gill of Greenville, NC; three brothers Vincenico Guzzi and his wife Dorothy of Painesville, OH, Carl Guzzi and his wife Betty of Wilmington, OH and Gene Guzzi and his wife Patricia of Wilmington, OH and two sisters Mary Louk and her husband Richard of Cleveland, OH and Brenda Moore and her husband Grant of Grafton, WV. He was also preceded in death by one brother Dominick Guzzi and one sister Anna Rogucki. He dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his four granddaughters. Taking family trips to Myrtle Beach and working in his beautiful yard were his two favorite hobbies. He retired from Union Carbide Corp, where he worked for three decades and made many wonderful friends. He demonstrated strong faith in his life and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Friends will be received at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street on Sunday from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the church on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Father Benedict Kapa and Reverend Father Hilarion V. Cann presiding. The interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
