I have great memories of Steve. He and I and Donnie Retton used to enjoy walking together at East/West Stadium on a routine basis, enjoying conversation as much as the exercise! As a fan of the Polar Bears baseball team, it was fun to follow Steve's teams during the regular season and often through the post-season playoff games. He was a great coach and was always focused on being fair to the players regardless of "political" pressure!! I also remember the good times shooting hoops at the fifth street gym with Steve and Donnie, and watching him execute that beautiful hook shot off the right side of the lane! I will miss him.
