Obituary of Carl James Hartman

Carl James Hartman, 74, of Grant Town, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was born in Moorefield on March 31, 1950. A son to the late Roy Hartman and Edna (Rinker) Hartman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Valinda (Grubb) Hartman. He is survived by his sons, Jonathan (Autumn) Hartman of Morgantown, Mike (Wendy) Hartman of Fairmont, and James (Melvonia) Hartman of Grant Town, his sister, Carol and Dale Cheuvront of Fairmont, his grandson, Rylan Hartman, three great-grandchildren, Jayden Thompson, Daquan South, and Jahselenea South, and his uncle, Burr Hartman of Moorefield. Carl was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and retired from the City of Fairmont as an equipment operator. He was a member of Reynoldsville Baptist Church and was also a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. There will be no public visitation or funeral.
