Obituary of Robert Arlie Vance
Robert “Arlie” Vance, 72, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. He was born on November 6, 1951 in Fairmont, the son of the late William Vance Jr. and Nancy L. Vance.
Arlie was a faithful member of Horizons Church, Lost Creek Campus.
Arlie was a proud graduate of East Fairmont High School in 1969 and attended Fairmont State College. He also studied Respiratory Therapy at Allegany College of Maryland, Bible & Church Ministries at Southeastern University, and obtained his Master of Arts in Religion at Liberty University.
Arlie worked as a former educator with the Marion County Board of Education, as well as a former registered respiratory therapist with the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.
Arlie is survived by his friends who were like family, Cathy Jackson, who was a longtime college friend, Donna Stuart, Nicka Jarrett, James Menefee and his wife Dawn, as well as Don Skidmore, Youth Pastor at Horizons Church, and Josiah Pitts, Lead Pastor at Horizons Church. He will also be deeply missed by his church family at the Lost Creek Campus of Horizons Church.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Genesis Pierpont Center and the Mon Health Intensive Care Unit for their love, care, and support.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 2 PM in the Maple Grove Cemetery, 819 Potomac Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554 with Pastor Josiah Pitts and Pastor Don Skidmore officiating.
