Obituary of Shirley Jean McIntyre

Shirley Jean McIntyre, 82, of Fairmont, passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 4, 2024. She was born in Kingmont on January 3, 1942. A daughter to the late Arlie Arshell and Mildred Watkins Lewis. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Calvin Buchanan on November 2, 1965. She is survived by her sons, Edward Calvin Buchanan Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Charles Town, Robert Eugene Buchanan and his wife Tina of Morgantown, and Richard McIntyre and his wife Tanya of Barrackville, her sister, Margaret Virginia Wagner of Fairmont, six grandchildren, Gerald Calvin Buchanan, Allison Buchanan, Grace Buchanan, Cassandra Sue Buchanan, Meghan Leigh Buchanan, and Desiree Kendall, six great-grandchildren, her special niece, a.k.a. her daughter, Debra Morgan and her husband Randall of Worthington, her nephew, David Lewis and his wife Tina of White Hall, her cousin, Barbara Hawk of Ohio, along with several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is preceded in death by her brother, Carroll Eugene Lewis, her sisters, Bertha Pauline Lewis, and Betty Lee Lewis, and her long-time special friend, Gordon Mickey Bush. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 5p.m. until 8p.m. and again on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 10a.m. until 11a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11a.m. A graveside committal service will follow at the Mapel Grove Cemetery in Fairmont.
