Obituary of Dianne Lynn Ashcraft

Dianne L. Ashcraft 77 of Colfax, daughter of the late Alton T. "Bus" and Bonnie Morris went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2024. She was born May 30, 1947. Dianne is survived by her three children Shawn Ashcraft and wife Vanessa of Berkeley Springs, Donald Ashcraft and wife Rebecca of Bunners Ridge, and daughter Melissa Smallwood and husband Roger of Fairmont. She has six grandchildren Crystal Smallwood, Andrew Smallwood, Amber Hobday, Mark Ashcraft, Blake Ashcraft, and Caroline Ashcraft, one step-granddaughter, Celess Ashcraft, and one great-granddaughter, Charolette Mia Smallwood, who was the apple of her eye. In addition, she is survived by one sister-in-law, Nina Ashcraft and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Donald "Jack" Ashcraft, her brother David Morris, and brother-in-law Frederick "Wayne" Ashcraft. Dianne was a 1965 graduate of EFHS, attended Fairmont State College, and graduated from WV Business College with a Medical Administrative degree. She is retired from Crawford & Company Insurance Adjusters. She worked in radiation oncology at WVU Hospitals and worked at Westinghouse Corporation. She was a member of Fairmont Free Methodist Church and loved serving the Lord. She also had a Rainbow and Son puppet ministry and went to various nursing homes and churches to perform. She enjoyed her woodworking and crafts, working in her flower beds, and swimming in her pool. In her younger years she loved horseback riding and water skiing. A very special thank you to her caregivers, Melissa, Crystal, and Andrew, and to WVU Hospice caregivers, Jacob, Melissa, Alisha, and Barbara. Donations can be made in Dianne's name to WVU Hospice Morgantown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 2p.m. until 8p.m. and on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 10a.m. until 11a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11a.m. with Reverend Jim Zinn officiating.
