Obituary of Frankie Dean Martin

Frankie Dean Martin, 67, of Fairmont, passed away in his home on, Sunday, November 17, 2024. He was born in Fairmont on September 7, 1957, a son to the late Franklin D. Martin and Barbara Jo Quinn Ashcraft. He is survived by his ex-wife, Joni Martin of Grant Town, his children, Jason Martin and his wife Shanda of Perryopolis, PA, and Cari Casuccio and her husband Cory of Barrackville, WV, his grandchildren, Brycen, Brodie, Carson, and Cooper, his Siblings, Chet, Jackie, Stephanie, Dodie, and Darlene, along with his best friend of over 60 years, Chuck Masters and his family. In addition to his parents, Frankie was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris and Sally, and his brother, Michael. Frankie was a 1975 graduate of East Fairmont High School and went on to be a coal miner for the Federal #2 and Peabody mines. He was an accomplished baseball player and even played semi-pro ball as a pitcher. Frankie loved baseball, basketball, and golf. He was a huge supporter of local sports and closely followed local athletes. Most of all, Frankie cherished his grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will occur.
