Obituary of Jessie R. "Moose" Harris
Jessie R. “Moose” Harris, 58, of McCurdysville, WV, passed away early Thursday morning in his sister’s home in Grafton, WV. He was born March 28, 1958 in Fairmont, WV, son of Alma Jane Harris Chrislip of McCurdysville, WV and the late Raymond Lewis Harris. Jessie was a farmer by trade in Marion County and Monongalia County. He earlier worked in forestry with the West Virginia Forestry Department and Products. Jessie also did some construction work in Morgantown, WV. Survivors include 3 sisters and their husbands, Sunday and Robert Berry of Daybrook, WV, Karen and Richard Bell of McCurdysville, WV, and Tammy and Denzil Coger of Grafton, WV; 3 brothers and their spouses, Frankie Harris and his companion Angie Long of Wadestown, WV, Robert and Marion Harris of McCurdysvile, WV, and Jody and Donna Harris of McCurdysville, WV; Several nieces and Nephews; and a close friend and neighbor, David Eddy, who helped him with animal care and farm work. Family and friends will be received at McCurdysville United Methodist Church in McCurdysville, WV from 12noon until 2pm on Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the church Sunday, 2-26-2017, at 2pm, with Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow in McCurdysville Cemetery.
