Obituary of Elizabeth Vasicek Brown Chapman
Elizabeth Vasicek Brown Chapman, 101, of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at United Hospital Center. She was born on November 23, 1915 in Grafton, a daughter of the late Carl and Leona (Orfamus) Vasicek.
She is survived by one son, Gregory Brown of Bridgeport and two stepsons, Steve (Joyce) Chapman of Florida and Rick Chapman of Costa Rica, a sister, Anne Lough of Fairmont, a sister-in-law, Evelyn Vasicek of Rivesville, a brother-in-law, King (Barbara) Chapman of Florida as well as many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Brown and second husband Richard Chapman; an infant son, Eddy Brown; four brothers and their spouses, Carl (Blanche) Vasicek, Lewis (Helen) Vasicek, George (Kathleen) Vasicek and Edward Vasicek; three sisters, Emma Vasicek, Rose (Andy) Deering and Leona (Andy) Stevenski; and a brother-in-law, Ed Lough.
She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She enjoyed playing golf, traveling, playing bridge and working in her flower garden. She loved to entertain family and friends. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care she received at the Brookdale Assisted Living facility in Bridgeport.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. A committal service will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
