Obituary of Milred A. Spangler

Mildred A. Spangler, 82, of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 9, 1934 in Preston County, WV, a daughter of the late James W. and Nellie L. Taylor. Mrs. Spangler was a Baptist by faith. She was raised in Taylor County and graduated from Grafton High School in 1952 and later the WV Business College. She retired in 1996 from the WVU Printing Mail Services with 30 years of service as the mailing supervisor. After her retirement she worked for White Real Estate as a part-time receptionist. Millie enjoyed playing bingo, NASCAR racing and watching football on TV. She loved having breakfast with her close friends on Saturday mornings. Millie is survived by two sisters, Nellie Pauline and her husband Alva “Bucky” Stevens, of Grafton, Leona F. Dawson of Fairmont, her brother, James W., Jr. and his wife Mary Katherine Taylor of Indiana, her nieces: Trina and her husband Ronald Skidmore, Twila Doub, Angela and her husband Joseph Kriston, Lisa and her husband Mitch Blanton, Jennifer Higgins, as well as her nephews: Darrell, Jr. and his wife Chrissy Dawson, John Taylor, Jr., Michael Taylor, and Eric Taylor. Millie is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, as well as her special friends Diana Conner, Patty Aversa and Kendy Clutter whom helped her in many different ways. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Spangler, her brothers: John E. Taylor, Richard C. Taylor, an infant brother Donald J. Taylor, her nephew David L. Stevens, and her niece Sasha Kriston. Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 2PM until 8PM and on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11 AM with Pastor David Bess officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rowlesburg, WV.
