Obituary of Sharon Kay Stewart Stickley
Sharon Kay Stewart Stickley, 67, of Fairmont, passed away with her daughters by her side on June 15, 2017, in North Carolina. She was born in Rivesville on March 5, 1950, daughter of the late Jesse Ray Stewart and his wife Charleen and Amy Pearl and her husband Jim.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Karie and Brian Bland of Matthews, NC and Jill and Rich Singleton of Shinnston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, which she loved dearly, Isabella and Savanna Bland of Matthews, NC and Austin and Evan Singleton of Shinnston.
Sharon is also survived by her sisters, Cindy Annan and her husband Tom of Fairmont and Carol Hilling and her husband Monte of Rivesville; her brothers, Tom Stewart and his wife Linda of Virginia, Michael Stewart and his wife Leita of Fairmont and John Stewart and his fiance Cris Batson of Rivesville; step-sisters, Cheryl Graziani and her husband Ron of Fairmont and Linda Sargent and Bill of White Hall; step-brother, Bill Snyder and his wife Julie of Florida; along with special nieces, nephews and aunts.
She graduated from Rivesville High School and continued her education at Fairmont State College. She worked at Fairmont State College until the birth of her first daughter. Once her daughters became school aged, she went to work at Fairmont Catholic School. She retired from the Marion County Board of Education as a kindergarten aide in 2012. She loved working with kids.
Sharon enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and most of all helping others. She was a very selfless woman.
Sharon was a member of the Gateson Hall Card Club in the Middletown Community Center Association.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, from 2p.m. until 8p.m. and on Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 12 noon until 1p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at 1p.m. with Mr. Brian Cole officiating.
