Obituary of Phyllis J. Sbarra

Phyllis J. Sbarra, 82 of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 in her residence. She was born October 12, 1933 in Fairmont a daughter of the late Harry G. and Audrey “June” Sauerborn McCabe. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Samuel A. Sbarra of Fairmont. Mrs. Sbarra was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church of Fairmont. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. Mrs. Sbarra formerly owned and operated the Cut and Curl Beauty Salon on East Grafton Road in Fairmont. She also worked in the purchasing department at the Fairmont State College Bookstore. Phyllis enjoyed working on her high school reunion and staying in contact with many of her classmates. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Mark Sbarra and his wife Cathleen Montgomery of Maryland; Troy M. Sbarra of Florida; and Shon Sbarra and his wife Susan Coffman of North Carolina; and her grandchildren: Laura Sbarra, Aaron Sbarra, and Lauren Sbarra. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her brother, Harry Lee McCabe. Memorial donations may be made to the Fairmont Soup Opera, 425 Quincey Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends and family may visit at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 5PM until 8PM and on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11AM with Father Robert Perriello and Deacon David Lester officiating.
