Obituary of Pauline "Polly" Carmichael

Pauline “Polly” Carmichael, 96, of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at United Hospital Center with her son Don and daughter-in-law Kimberly at her side. Pauline was born in Ellenboro, WV on November 1, 1919, daughter of the late Edgar Ball and Etta Wigner Ball. Polly treasured her family and friends. She never met a stranger and could strike up a warm conversation with just about anyone she met. When she was able, she was an active member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church, the women’s club of Bridgeport United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Lee Carmichael, whom she married on March 30, 1939; her brother, Wayne Ball; four sisters, Maxine Moore, Dolly Griffin, Nadine Hugkins and Ruth Phares. Pauline is survived by her son Don Carmichael and his wife Kimberly of White Plains, NY; a sister, Lourina McGhee of Palm Desert, CA; a brother, Paul “Bud” Ball of Bridgeport, WV; granddaughters, Lisa Carmichael and Susan Kesicki and her four great-grandsons, Dillon and Weston Carmichael and Taylor and Max Kesicki. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main St., Bridgeport, WV 26330, on Saturday, April 9, 2016, from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Ken Ramsey officiating.
